What is the World Scout Jamboree?
The WSJ is an international scouting event, organized every four years, and invites 14-17 year olds from all over the world to come together in one massive scout camp. The upcoming Jamboree is being hosted in Poland, and runs (provisionally) from the 30th July 2027 until the 8th August 2027, with additional dates either side to be confirmed soon.
In Cornwall, we are looking to select 36 young people, who will be guided by 4 adult leaders. This group will then go through a series of training camps together to prepare. The cost will be no more that £3495. We know this is a lot for most people. Part of the 18-month preparation before the Jamboree will include fundraising from the young people. In Cornwall, we are absolutely committed to ensuring that cost is not a barrier to international scouting.
Eligibility
Young people must be an active member of a Scout Troop or Explorer Unit in Cornwall, and born between 30th July 2009 and 30th July 2013. If a young person has additional needs or a disability, we will endeavor to make reasonable adjustments and support them through the selection process.
